From 12 to 16 May 2025, Marija Bačeković Koloper visited Plymouth Marine Laboratory for scientific training.

Skills gained during training will help her significantly in her ongoing research and professional development in the field of biophysical oceanography. The techniques learned will enhance her ability to analyze ocean productivity and accurately estimate water-column production and photosynthetic parameters, specifically while using the data from the global databases of in-situ measurements and P-I parameters. This will strengthen her capacity to interpret biogeochemical data, and collaborate effectively in international scientific initiatives.

Detalied description of activities during training is provided below:

12th May 2025

Chlorophyll concentration analysis - Introduction to theory of chlorophyll measurement methods

13th May 2025

Methods for measuring primary production - Getting to know the theory of primary production measurement methods

14th May 2025

Photosynthesis irradiance experiments - Getting to know the theory of photosynthesis irradiance experiments

15th May 2025

Watercolumn production estimation - Getting to know the theory of in situ primary production measurements

16th May 2025

Parameter estimation - Definition of photosynthesis parameters, Methods of estimation
